"Dear Anneke: I'm sitting here on my desk a bit sad but hopeful writting this letter as a petition for you. I live in Concepción since I was born. As you should know we were the earthquake epicenter that occurred in the morning of February 27th. Since we knew you were going to do a gig in Santiago with Danny Cavanagh, we have been feeling sorrow about it because we know we wont go. We had to stifle the desire to go and see you singing. Concepción is far from Santiago even if you go by buss it takes 6 hours, most of us are students and we must be responsible at school or, in my case, at the University, days are not with us most of the time, and sometimes we just cannot go to Santiago because of the long travel, the expensive buss ticket and our responsibilities as students. Santiago is not Chile, but it seems like has always been like that. It is hard to break the wall of capitalism, and those who are not from Santiago, like us, are very upset about it. But we certainly know that if there is one way to show this country Santiago is not Chile, it is you coming to Concepción, because even with the earthquake, centralism did not stop. If you come to Concepción, we are sure people from Santiago wont hesitate to come as well, and at the same time would open their eyes wide when they take a look to the city, seeing people still living in tents, and so they would help us more than before, because watching it by TV is not the same than living it. Theatre of Concepción is in good condition, and although this city has been earthquaked we are pretty sure you will love it. We are looking forward for you and Danny. Regards, Zinnia Villegas R.
