Winter's Here Again
Hello dear friends,
A beautiful cold but sunny day and I have found some time to update you guys and galls!
First off, I want to say I'm always very touched by all your comments on my website, Facebook, Hyves, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter. I do read all of them. However, my Facebook & MySpace inbox is a different story. There are literarily 1000's of emails there, a lot of them very elaborate. It's really not possible for me to read and answer them. Please forgive me :-)
While on the wonderful subject of all your supportive comments. I receive lots of questions about why we play where we play and why not in so & so country.
Well, I LOVE playing live. It's probably the most direct form of communicating with an audience and I just adore doing it. I'm also very anxious to go back to every country I've already been to and travel to new places as well!
A few years ago I had to take a break from touring intensively due to persistent fatigue and the desire to spend more time with my little boy. Nevertheless I've always been looking for opportunities to play abroad as much as possible, be it in shorter stints. Since I've learned to take a rest a lot more without feeling guilty, my health improved a lot. So even though it's a complicated sum of timing, economics and geography, I'm always trying to find ways to tour abroad.
Very recently I've started working with US based agency Entourage Talent Associates, to handle my international bookings, so keep an eye on the events page of my website, there's always more to come fo sho! :-)
And... keep posting those requests: I love to read where all of you come from and where you would want to see and hear us play live!
So... what have I been up to?!?
Well, there are some exciting things coming up I still have to be a little bit mysterious about...
I can tell you though that we are working on two music videos and what I have seen from the first one (which is nearly completed) is very, very beautiful.
I'm also in the midst of preparing a special guest appearance which will take place mid-January in the Netherlands. I hope I can announce it this coming week!
Right before Xmas I will spent some family time in Cologne (I love that city) and right after that I'm looking forward to doing a few acoustic shows with Danny Cavanagh.
On a more serious note: last week I attended Jos Kuijsters' memorial service, the father of our lovely keyboard gall Annelies. It was incredibly sad and heart warming at the same time. Jos was a very sweet, creative and inspirational man and the whole band was deeply saddened by his passing. Annelies and her family are in our thoughts and we wish them lots of strength.
Speak soon,
Anneke xXx

"Well, always good to read some good stuff from you, i always love your work since you were in The Gathering, i´m a big metal fan but i need to admit, your last album... i can't stop listening that beautiful piece of art... Sadly i never saw a concert of you :( so i hope you can come sometime to NYC and give us a great concert, i know here are not a lot of fans to make a big concert like South America or Europe but here are a lot of guys from the south (like myself) and we are waiting for this day.... You look so pretty with your son, i wish you a wonderful holiday season for you and the hole band. Kisses and hugs from a lost ecuadorian in the bug NYC."

RT @DalaiLama: Love and kindness are the very basis of society. If we lose these feelings, society will face tremendous difficulties.
